27 migrants intercepted off T&T coast

Twenty-seven people were aboard a boat that was chased and intercepted by officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard south of the country's coast on Wednesday.
 
Among them are three children, 16 men and eight women, all believed to be Venezuelan migrants.
 
The Coast Guard said around 9.43 a.m they saw the boat cross the maritime border, and began a chase.
 
The boat was towed to Staubles Bay, Chaguaramas and the Immigration Division and police contacted.
