The long-awaited Annual General Meeting (AGM) to usher in the new board for Netball Jamaica is now set for July 5.
The AGM initially set for December of last year, was postponed on a number of occasions, because of outstanding audited financial statements.
Vice president of Netball Jamaica Simone Forbes says the arrival of the new board could not come at a better time, as World Netball has announced plans for the World Cup to take place every two years instead of four.
Forbes says this decision to stage the World Cup on a biennial basis should work in favour of the top nations such as Jamaica. Forbes was speaking on Hitz 92 FM's Sports Grill on Wednesday.
Karen Baugh who is currently the chairperson for marketing and sponsorship at the association, is tipped to replace Tricia Robinson as president. This will be the first AGM for the association in four years.
