Additional $500 million allocated to improve JCF infrastructure

The government has earmarked an additional $500 million for improving the infrastructure of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
 
State Minister in the Ministry of National Security Juliet Cuthbert Flynn said the ministry has forged partnerships with the National Housing Trust and the Jamaica Social Investment Fund to improve the state of police facilities. 
 
"Looking forward, the Ministry of National Security is committed to further ramping up the efforts. In the fiscal year 2024 to 2025, we aim to undertake another 25 major renovations and repair projects amounting to approximately $500 million to enhancing the working environment of all our law enforcement officers," she announced. 
 
The state minister was speaking at the Transforming Our Police Service Award Ceremony organised by the Police Civilian Oversight Authority held in Montego Bay, St. James on Wednesday.
