President of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Dr Donovan Bennett has reaffirmed plans to host an all-Headley Cup, all-Grace Shield match at Sabina Park this month which will be the first game to take place under the upgraded lighting system at the venue.
The instillation of new lights at Sabina Park has now been completed and the construction of a new scoreboard is also set to be finished by the end of this month.
Speaking following a visit to Sabina Park by Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Sports Minister Olivia Grange on Monday evening, Dr Bennett said the game will go ahead as planned and will precede a visit from Cricket West Indies (CWI) to assess the readiness of the venue for the region's first pink ball test against Australia starting July 12.
