Annual road death figure again tops 400

Dr Lucien Jones

Deaths from road crashes remain high with more than 400 fatalities recorded this year.

Dr Lucien Jones, Vice-Chairman of the National Road Safety Council, in response, told Radio Jamaica News that despite the slight reduction in road fatalities this year over last year, the figure is still too high.

Five road fatalities were recorded over the last two days.

Dr Jones added that motorcyclists and pedestrians have contributed to significant number of the road deaths recorded.
