Antigua & Barbuda is set to modernise its immigration process with the launch of a paperless border control system next month.
The Telecommunication Ministry says the system, now in its pilot phase, replaces traditional paper cards with a digital solution, allowing travellers to submit their information online at least 24 hours before arrival.
It adds that, once completed, travellers will receive a QR code for seamless check-ins and faster processing at Customs.
The project, which was initially proposed during the COVID-19 pandemic to reduce physical contact, faced delays due to integration challenges with Canadian Bank Notes, border technology and financial setbacks.
