Geoffrey Forbes, grandfather of the deceased baby

There was tragedy in Top Hill district in Manchester, after a woman reportedly drowned her newborn at a home in the community.
The child, a boy, was her only offspring.
Radio Jamaica News understands that the baby was submerged in a five gallon bucket of water about 8:30 Tuesday morning.
The mother has not been seen since the incident.
The baby's grandfather, Geoffrey Forbes, said everyone is shaken by the incident.
The man expressed concern for his son - the baby's father - lamenting "I don't even know how my son a tek it."
According to him, the woman called his son to confess that she had killed the baby and was gone.
Mr. Forbes said the woman has had episodes where she set fire to the home she shared with his son and went missing for weeks at a time.
However, he said there were no recent signs of an impending episode.
"We never see har a act no way different from the doctor dem inject har, you know," he recounted.
