Bermuda: Gov't says economy continues to surpass pre-pandemic levels

The Bermuda government says economic growth has exceeded the pre-COVID-19 pandemic level, with international business, local financial insurance, and the real estate sectors contributing significantly to the growth.

Economy and Labour Minister Jason Hayward told a news conference, that there had been economic growth in the first, second, and third quarters of 2023.

Mr Hayward says during the third quarter of last year, 314 local businesses were created, bringing the island's complete business register to 16 thousand 307.

The third quarter showed 7.1 per cent growth above the 2022 figures.
