CARICOM countries are to receive more support from Interpol, the world's largest police organisation, as they intensify efforts against crime and violence.
Regional leaders met with Interpol's Secretary General during the 49th regional meeting of the CARICOM Heads of Government in Montego Bay over the last few days, to strengthen cooperation and expand access to its global resources.
The CARICOM Heads of Government affirmed that a secure region is a viable region, as they adopted the Montego Bay Declaration on Transnational Organised Crime and Gangs, underscoring a united stance against criminal networks.
Interpol is the premier global policing organisation with massive databases which can be of use in dealing with organised criminal enterprises.
