Detectives assigned to the National Strategic Anti-Gang Division (NSAD) seized a firearm, a ballistic vest, and more than 80 rounds of ammunition on Monday during separate operations across St. James.
Two women and one man were taken into custody in connection with the seizures.
In the first incident, around 4:00 p.m., NSAD personnel were conducting an operation at Fairview Plaza in Montego Bay when a woman was accosted and searched.
They reportedly found in her possession 75 rounds of ammunition for high powered weapons.
The woman was arrested following the seizure.
Later, around 6:30 p.m., the police said a search warrant was executed at a house in Meadows Vale, Montego Bay, where a Taurus pistol, a magazine, six rounds of ammunition, a firearm holster and a ballistic vest were seized.
A man and a woman were subsequently arrested in connection with the seizure.
