National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang
The Ministry of National Security and Peace is refuting claims that a Portfolio Minister Dr. Horace Chang is hospitalised.
It comes following a social media post claiming the Deputy Prime Minister was back in hospital.
But in his first official statement since he underwent elective surgery in late 2025, Dr. Chang said he has been recovering well since being discharged.
The minister said he did not suffer health emergency and the rumours are baseless and fictitious.
"I wish to express my deep appreciation to all Jamaicans who have called, my family and colleagues and friends and the wider public after the mischievous report this morning on social media. I'm fine, recovering well and in fact, on a very good schedule from my doctors at the university," said the security minister.
The ministry says it continues to fight against the spread of misinformation and disinformation shared with the intent of misleading and distracting the public.
