Eighteen alleged members of the Tesha Miller faction of the Clansmam Gang were further remanded until March 7, for nine of the defendants to settle legal representation.
Conroy Cadogan, Kemar Francis, Kemar Miller, Charles McCleary, Carlos Williams, Dwayne Frater, Reynaldo Spence, Nashawn Guest and Lamar Rowe joined the cohort who appeared in the Home Circuit Court last week.
Nine of the defendants are unrepresented.
Another four alleged members of the criminal network are to be charged on February 9 and brought before the court.
Prior to remanding the men, presiding judge Justice Vinette Graham Allen noted that she anticipates applications for bail given the fact that attorney Davian Vassell came prepared.
Justice Graham Allen said the antecedent history of the accused must be verified.
She said once all accused are represented, a date will be set for the hearing of bail applications.
ID parades
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey told Radio Jamaica News that four other alleged members of the Tesha Miller-led faction are to face a series of identification parades.
He said a further nine members of the gang have been sent to other divisions where they are wanted for serious crimes including murders and shootings.
DCP Bailey disclosed that one of the suspects is being investigated for a double murder.
The senior commander told Radio Jamaica News that the Police High Command will be using all the resources at its disposal to track down and capture gang members and their leaders.
Jamaica has recorded 79 murders since the start of the year. This is 11 fewer than the number recorded for the similar period last year.
