The elderly woman accused of using an object to kill her husband in Cabbage Valley, St. Elizabeth on Saturday September 2 has been charged.

The St. Elizabeth Police say 73-year-old Enid Townsend has been charged with the murder of her husband, Arthur Townsend, a 74-year-old farmer.

The police say Mrs Townsend confessed to using a hammer to strike her husband multiple times.

The incident stemmed from a dispute between the couple over the woman being omitted from her husband's will.

This disagreement escalated, resulting in her husband allegedly slapping her.

She is slated to appear in the St. Elizabeth Parish Court today.
