The Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States ended in Antigua yesterday having achieved several milestones, including the launch of the SIDS Debt Sustainability Service Initiative.
President of the conference and Antigua Prime Minister Gaston Browne says the initiative is a critical step towards addressing the unsustainable debt burden that many small island nations face.
In addition, the meeting inaugurated the SIDS Centre of Excellence.
Mr Browne says the two mechanisms represent the collective efforts to create a resilient and prosperous future for SIDS.
