Deputy Commissioner of Police (in charge of Crime) Fitz Bailey has expressed concern that a number of gangs are collaborating to carry out heists targeting security companies transporting cash.
The latest armed robbery took place last Friday in Mandeville when security guards employed to Beryllium were attacked and robbed by heavily armed men.
This is the fifth such attack on a Beryllium courier team delivering cash since February.
DCP Bailey says the gangs are combining to launch attacks in order to rake in large sums of cash.
