Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness has declared the government's commitment to driving productivity among micro small and medium sized enterprises.
The Prime Minister, addressing a Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Linkages Day event on Tuesday, said the survival and success of these enterprises depend on their level of productivity.
He noted as well that the the provision of the necessary skills set, greater use of technology and improvements in the systems used by MSMEs will enable them to increase their output.
"That is why have invested heavily in training and digitization, through the Digital Jamaica Programme, finance by the European Union," he said, adding that the government is "equipping over 700 MSMEs with the tools and skills to thrive in the digital economy."
He said 962 businesses and 1,156 individuals have been trained, and three business transition centers established.
