The Ministry of Health and Wellness is appealing for blood donations in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.
Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says a national blood drive has been launched.
"Those who are wishing to donate can visit the National Chest Hospital, Spanish Town Hospital between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., the Mandeville Regional Hospital between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. And they just need to come, take an ID, and the team will work with them. But we are making a special appeal for blood because in those parishes where persons have been traumatised or are trying to help themselves and getting into accidents, we do need supplies of blood," said the minister.
He was speaking at a press briefing at the ministry's emergency operations centre on Saturday.
