The National Transportation Safety Board has provided an update on the investigation into January's deadly crash between a passenger plane and a military helicopter.
The aircraft collided on January 29 as the plane was approaching Reagan National Airport in Washington DC.
There were no survivors, with 64 passengers aboard the American Airlines flight and three soldiers on the Army Black Hawk identified as victims.
According to officials the helicopter was on a training flight and appeared to be 200 feet higher than it should have been at the time.
The helicopter pilot appeared to respond to air traffic control to confirm they were aware of the plane, but moments later the two aircraft collided.
Investigators have recovered the flight data recorders, known as black boxes.
