Justice Marva McDonald Bishop
Justice Marva McDonald Bishop is to be appointed Jamaica's first female President of the Court of Appeal.
Justice McDonald Bishop, who is acting in the post, is expected to take over the presidency from Justice Patrick Brooks who goes on retirement on Wednesday.
She was a prosecutor in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions until she was appointed to the Supreme Court Bench.
She was appointed to the Appeal Court in September 2015.
Justice McDonald Bishop is described by fellow judges and members of the legal profession as a competent judge and one who is blessed with a brilliant mind and whose judgments are sound and well-reasoned.
