kC student to appear in court

A Kingston College student linked to the March 28 beating of a 14-year-old student from St. Georges College is booked to appear in court on Wednesday.  The K.C student was picked up by investigators following a visit to the school's campus last Monday.

National Co-ordinator Safe Schools Programme Sergeant Coleridge Minto provides an update on the arrest of the KC student.  Sergeant Minto says initial investigations point to other KC students who are linked to the beating of the St. Georges students.

He says investigations are trying to determine whether there's enough evidence to charge other KC students. Checks with a family source this afternoon revealed that the 14-year-old boy visited the doctor this morning and following a check up has been given the go ahead to return to school.  Another follow-up visit scheduled for early June will determine whether he has fully adjusted to the learning environment. Test results from a Catscan conduced in March  revealed that the second form student sustained a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain, following the attack by his Kingston College peers.  Doctors however managed to repair the damage. The  St. Georges student was in Parade, downtown Kingston last month, when he was attacked by a group of Kingston College schoolboys
