Kidd lane killings linked to intra-gang feud - Chang

Minister of National Security & Peace Dr Horace Chang has reported that the triple murder and arson attack on Kidd Lane in St Andrew on Saturday morning was the result of an intra-gang conflict.

He has described the incident as one of the most brutal attacks the country has seen this year:

“The gang has been somewhat diminished and a number of younger members are trying to rise to take over from the older men and rebuild the gang and has resulted in attacks on the families,” he explained.

He said there had been a killing in the area, related to the family of a another member of the gang, “and this was a reprisal on the family of the one which was the real elder in the gang.”

Dr Chang said the police will pursue those responsible and ensure they face justice.

“I have said before at the very beginning we will not allow them any room to, to risk an escape, but they (the police) have in fact apprehended one… The police fatal shooting in the area, they recovered a assault rifle, and the evidence clearly point that he was among the shooters. They have names and information on others, and we will pursue them. We'll find them.”

The victims have been identified as 39 year-old Kimeisha Gibson, Lashane Ellis, 30, and one-year-old Kaheel Daley.
