Liberty Street flooding misery persists in Brown's Town

Patience is running out among residents of Liberty Street in Brown's Town, St. Ann over the failure of the authorities to address a longstanding flooding issue in the community.

The residents say the roads are flooded whenever it rains heavily, restricting access for motorists and pedestrians.

Asvando Nichols, a 42 year-old shop operator, told Radio Jamaica News that the community has been in this state since he was a child.

One resident, Mr. Wallace, said he built a walkway along his property to allow people to access a section of the road.

When Radio Jamaica News contacted Kim Brown-Lawrence, councillor for the Brown's Town Division,  she said there are plans to correct the problem but did not provide a timeline.
