The relatives of a man who was killed in Lilliput, St. James on Thursday for allegedly setting a People's National Party campaign vehicle on fire, say he was mentally ill.
The deceased is 44-year-old Kenroy Doeman.
Mr. Doeman was found with bullet wounds sometime after 9 p.m. in an area known as Africa, close to his home.
The shooting occurred less than two hours after a car parked at the house of PNP candidate for the Rose Hall division, Jason Cummings, was seen ablaze.
Following the incident, there were fears of political tension in the division amid speculation about a possible motive.
