Two men were shot, one fatally, in Denham Town, Kingston on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Rafiek Thomas, an employee of Petrojam.
The other victim, 35, is in stable condition.
It's reported that about 5:30, both men were asleep at a house on Water Street when armed men entered and opened fire.
Mr. Thomas died at the scene, while the other man was taken to hospital by residents.
Senior Superintendent Michael Phipps, head of the Kingston Western Police, says no motive has been established for the attack.
Mr. Thomas played for several local football teams including Boys' Town, Tivoli Gardens and Harbour View FC.
