PNP President Mark Golding
People's National Party President Mark Golding has reiterated his call for Prime Minister Andrew Holness to set an early election date.
The next general election is constitutionally due by September next year.
Mr Golding was speaking Sunday night in the constituency of Portland Eastern to present the party's candidate for the constituency, attorney-at-law Isat Buchanan.
Mr Golding told the large gathering that the PNP is ready to lead the country.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness last week declared that there was no contemplation of a general (parliamentary) election before the end of the year.
