The Ministry of Health is said to be experiencing major difficulty finding a new location for its headquarters.
An urgent search is now underway to relocate the Ministry from the Oceana complex in downtown Kingston, following the sale of the building by the Urban Development Corporation.
According to RJR sources, the building is to be refurbished and converted into office and residential suites.
Ministry officials have identified five locations where employees will be housed until a permanent location is found.
Ministry of Health employees are also expected to be transferred to a building on Barbados Avenue; a property on Chelsea Avenue; and a section of the National Public Health Laboratory.
Some operations will also be transferred to the Office Centre Building on the Kingston Waterfront as well as the Kingston School of Nursing on Half Way Tree Road.
