More than 17,000 people added to voters' list

The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) has added more than 17,000 new voters to the national voters' list, bringing the total number of registered electors to just over two million.

According to the EOJ, a total of 17,712 electors were added to the list published on December 20, increasing the national total to 2,091,622.

The Electoral Office says persons added to the list will be able to collect their new voter identification cards by mid-January at the constituency office where they are registered.

The voters; list is usually published twice each year, on May 31 and November 13. However, the November 2025 publication was delayed by three weeks, due to the impact of Hurricane Melissa.

The EOJ is also advising electors who lost or had their voter ID cards damaged during the hurricane that they can apply for replacement cards free of charge at their constituency offices.

Meanwhile, persons who successfully registered between October 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026, will be included in the May 31, 2026 voters' list.
