Nine shot, one fatally, at bar and lounge on Shortwood Road

Nine people were shot, one fatally, when a man opened fire on patrons at a bar and lounge along Shortwood Road in St. Andrew, on Tuesday night.
 
A woman died from her injuries in the attack.
 
It's reported that about 11:30 p.m, patrons were inside the lounge when the man entered and began firing indiscriminately.
 
After the shooting, it was discovered that nine people, including four women, were shot.
 
The police were called and the victims rushed to hospital.
 
Superintendent Sherika Service, head of the St. Andrew North Police, told Radio Jamaica News that the police are trying to establish a motive for the shooting.
 
She appealed to members of the public with information on the "senseless act" to contact the Constant Spring Criminal Investigations Branch at 876-924-1421 or Crime Stop at 311.   
 
Superintendent Service said seven of the victims remain hospitalised.
