NWC says water restored to 82% of customers

The National Water Commission (NWC) says it has restored water supply to most of its customers.

Acting Communication Manager at the NWC, Delano Williams, told Radio Jamaica News that the Water Commission has restored water to 82 per cent of its customers up to Saturday.

Water supply has been restored to 13 major towns across the island.

But Mr. Williams said the Water Commission is facing challenges restoring the commodity to sections of Mandeville in Manchester, South and South East Clarendon and Northern St. Elizabeth - areas devastated by Hurricane Beryl.

The Water Commission reported last week that the Mona Reservoir, which serves sections of the Corporate Area, was at 68 per cent of its capacity, while Hermitage Dam was at 100 per cent of capacity.
