The National Water Commission (NWC) says it is working to address small pockets of residents across sections of the island who are still without potable water.

Since the passage of Hurricane Beryl thousands of customers have been without the commodity due to a lack of electricity or dislocation of equipment.

Acting Communication Manager at the NWC, Delano Williams, says the agency is experiencing challenges with access to remote areas such as in the Ward River, Needham Pen area of St. Thomas, as well as some of the sections of Hanover.

"We are also working in the southern Trelawny areas where our Ulster Spring, Warsop, Dornoch systems are still out of operation and we are working as speedily as we can to get those back up. Similarly, our Queen of Spain Wells and the Clark's Town system are experiencing some amount of turbidity that has forced us to keep them out of operation, and we've been having to do trucking in a number of these communities to supplement or to alleviate, rather, the shortfall," he said.
