The Kingston Eastern Police have confirmed that one person is in custody in connection with the theft two money bags with $20 million from a Beryllium courier truck last week.

The police have also disclosed that they have recovered what they suspect to be some of the stolen cash.

It was reported that investigators are searching for an SUV linked to the missing cash.

The money was stolen from the courier truck in East Kingston on Thursday.

It's reported that about 10 a.m., the courier truck, with the three-member crew, was transporting 48 bags containing money to Norman Manley International Airport.

During the journey, the driver was reportedly alerted by a motorist that two bags had fallen from the truck and that the rear door was open near Rockfort Mineral Bath along the Sir Florizel Glasspole Boulevard.

The crew chief reportedly stopped the truck and went to investigate and found the door open.

He said they made several checks on Sir Florizel Glasspole Boulevard but did not locate the missing bags.
