Police fatal shooting sparks fiery protest in Grants Pen, St. Andrew

 
The police are keeping a close watch and sections of Grants Pen in St. Andrew after residents staged roadblocks to protest against the fatal shooting of a man from the community on Wednesday morning.
 
Jadean Gooden, otherwise called 'Six', was shot dead during a police operation around 4 a.m. 
 
A firearm was reportedly seized in the operation.
 
Residents of Grants Pen used burning debris to block sections of Grants Pen Road, Grants Pen Drive, Allerdyce Drive, and Shortwood Lane.
 
Deputy Superintendent Randy Sweeney, head of the St. Andrew North Police Division, told Radio Jamaica News that the police have been deployed to restore calm to the area.
 
He said the area is tense and motorists are being urged to use alternative routes while the police work to quell the unrest.
 
The roadblock has reportedly been cleared.
