Police seize two illegal guns, hundreds of ammunition in Clarendon

Two illegal firearms and more than 300 rounds of ammunition have been seized by the police in Clarendon.
 
The weapons were seized on Tuesday and Wednesday in Gimme-me-bit and on Duke Street, Toll Gate.
 
No one was arrested in the incidents.
 
The police say about midday Tuesday, a team carried out a targeted raid at a property in Gimme-me-bit.
 
A search was conducted and two hundred and ninety two - 12 gauge cartridges were found in two boxes.
 
On Wednesday, a man ran from the police leaving a bag with two guns on Duke Street in Toll Gate.
 
It's reported that about 1:30 p.m., a team of police from the May Pen station were on enquires when they saw a shirtless man with a black bag across his chest.
 
He was approached by the police, but dropped the bag, and a white merino and shirt which were in his hands.
 
One Glock P80 with a magazine containing 14 rounds and a Browning single action pistol with ten rounds of ammunition were found inside the bag.
 
The serial numbers on the firearms were erased.
