Probe underway after robbers seen in apparent security forces' uniforms

The security forces are investigating the robbery of a remittance outlet in Linstead, St. Catherine on the weekend that was captured on video showing the perpetrators wearing clothing resembling police and soldier uniforms.
 
The incident reportedly occurred at a drugstore about 3:00 p.m. Saturday.
 
Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, who is in charge of the JCF's Corporate Communications Unit, said there is an active investigation into the matter.
 
"We should be getting an update on that matter later today, but we are aware of the situation. It is being investigated and we will do a lot of work around it and update you accordingly," she said. 
 
The Jamaica Defence Force has said it is also conducting the necessary checks to verify if the uniforms used in the incident are its property.
 
The JDF says it will assist the police in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
