PSOJ calls for collaboration to tackle crime, corruption

PSOJ President Metry Seaga
By Halshane Burke

President of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) Metry Seaga says a collaborative approach is needed to tackle the issue of crime and corruption.

Mr. Seaga says there are people in the private sector who are active participants in crime.

He says there needs to be an introspective approach to dealing with the problem.

"I think that leadership from the political sector, from the private sector, from government agencies all need to come together and say to ourselves enough is enough, we have had enough crime, corruption and badmanism. The time has come for us to come together and ask for and demand a gentler, softer kind of Jamaica that we can all live in and be a part of," he urged.

Mr. Seaga was speaking at the Jamaica Customs Agency's Annual Anti-Corruption Panel Discussion on Thursday.
