National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang says repair work will resume at the Linstead Police Station in St. Catherine.

This comes after stakeholders late last year announced that that remedial work was underway in preparation for repairs to the roof and other areas that have compromised the structure of the building.

Councillors in the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation have been calling for repair work to resume on the run-down police station where challenges include a weathered roof, multiple leaks and mould.

Dr. Chang said the repairs were delayed to facilitate changes in the planned work.

Police officers have been forced to carry out administrative duties along the patio area of the Linstead Station.

In response, Dr. Chang said the government is considering interim measures to provide some relief, including temporary relocation.
