Barita Investments has earned higher credit ratings from Caribbean Information and Credit Rating Services, CariCRIS.
The ratings agency upgraded the company's ratings on both the Jamaican and regional scales and assigned a Stable Outlook.
CariCRIS says the upgrade reflects Barita's stronger financial position and its improved ability to meet its obligations.
The agency highlighted the successful acquisition and integration of Barita Fund Managers, which has helped expand the company's products, customer base and assets under management.
It also cited stronger funding, improved risk management systems and greater institutional capacity.
CariCRIS expects Barita's earnings to continue improving, driven by higher fee income, more investment banking activity and lower funding costs.
