The vehicle which was washed away with a man and a woman in Worthy Park, St. Catherine during heavy rains on Tuesday has been located.
The vehicle was found in a water-filled gully off the Worthy Park main road on Thursday morning.
The police have not yet confirmed whether the couple is inside the vehicle.
Superintendent Hopton Nicholson, Commanding Officer for the St. Catherine North Police, told Radio Jamaica News that the pick-up motor truck was spotted shortly before 9 a.m. by residents.
"We are now on location where we see the motor vehicle partially submerged about 100 metres from the side of the road in water, a lot of murky water. We are now awaiting the Scenes of Crime, we are also are awaiting a wrecking service as well as the services of a tractor to remove and to process the scene at this time.... We have members from the Jamaica Fire Brigade here to assist and the citizens are also assisting us at this time, and we thank them for all of their contributions so far," he said.
The police and residents have been searching for the couple since Wednesday after they were reported missing.
It's reported that sometime after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the driver of the pick-up motor truck was attempting to cross a flooded roadway when the vehicle was swept away.
