Seven killings in St. James in 24 hours

There were seven killings, including two double-murders, in Jamaica's north western parish of St James in the last twenty four hours.
   
The incidents took place in Rose Heights, Norwood, Roehampton, and the Harbour Street Craft Market. A female vendor is among the victims.
    
Early this morning, the vendor, who is from Ocho Rios, St. Ann was in the process of  unloading her goods. A gunman walked up and shot her in the head. She died on the spot.
    
In Rose Heights, a taxi operator, who plied the Flanker to downtownMontego Bay route, and his nephew, were killed outside their home in Matches Lane, Rose Heights last night.  
   
Norwood was also the scene of a double murder. Patrick Williams,  31, a security guard, and his uncle 42-year-old David Dilbert, a labourer, were killed last night.
   
About 9:45, residents heard explosions and called the police. The men were pronounced dead at hospital.  
   
Also in Norwood, 31 year-old Shawn Hudson, otherwise called ‘Thugs’, of Third Avenue, was shot and killed about 2:50 on Thursday afternoon. 

Another man was killed in Roehampton, in rural St. James. Details on that incident were not available.  
The number of  murders in the parish since the start of  the year has increased to more than 120.
