Classes have been disrupted at several schools after bomb threats were issued to the institutions via email on Thursday morning.
Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, head of the JCF's Corporate Communications Unit, said emergency services have been called to schools in Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine, Clarendon and Trelawny.
She said the police are also collaborating with several agencies, including the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, who has been checking the various locations.
The Sabina Basic School in Portmore, St. Catherine was evacuated as it is in close proximity to the Greater Portmore High School which received a threat via email.
Ricardo Ross, Principal of Greater Portmore High, said the school was not the sender's target, however the institution was evacuated based on the message in the email.
"In order to ensure that create a safe environament, we reached out to the Police High Command and they advised us to vacate, providing opportunity for the necessary team to come in and do due diligence."
He said no explosive devices were found and classes will resume on Friday.
Radio Jamaica News was informed that threats were also issued to Immaculate Conception High in St. Andrew, Old Harbour High in St. Catherine as well as Lennon and Denbigh High schools in Clarendon.
