Southern Regional Health Authority now using computerised maintenance management system

Krystal Lee, Minister of State in the Ministry of Health & Wellness

The Southern Regional Health Authority is touting its computerised maintenance management system as a huge game changer which has already resulted in significant improvements in the region's operational efficiency.

The system, which was developed in-house, is expected to improve record keeping, reporting, equipment management and maintenance.

Krystal Lee, Minister of State in the Ministry of Health & Wellness, who delivered the  keynote address, suggested that the system be replicated in other health authorities across the island.

She said the system can reduce downtime caused by maintenance issues and help save money, noting that this initiative is a "direct result of Medical Equipment Management Policy that was started some years ago, and that it is in keeping with World Health Organization's own prescription for the use of computerised maintenance management systems in hospitals.
