A St. Ann businesswoman is to face the court on multiple fraud-related offences, in connection with an alleged fictitious US work and travel programme.

The police say 43-year-old Snovia Campbell, of Orange Hill, Brown's Town, was arrested and charged following intensive investigations into complaints from three individuals.

She has been charged with fraudulent conversion, possession of criminal property and engaging in a transaction that involves criminal property.

The allegations are that during 2023 and 2024, the complainants paid Ms. Campbell thousands of dollars for work and travel opportunities and visa application fees.

A combined total of US$3,600 and J$161,000 was reportedly paid for these services.

However, it is reported that the complainants did not receive the promised services or refunds.

The matter was reported to the police and the businesswoman arrested and later charged.
