St. Elizabeth farmer charged for pointing gun at police

A 25-year-old farmer has been charged with assault at common law and possession of a prohibited weapon resulting from an incident at Treasure Beach in March this year.
 
Charged is Christopher Campbell, otherwise called "Chris" of Pedro Cross.
 
It was reported that on March 5, Mr. Campbell was observed displaying a firearm to a friend while at a night club in the Treasure Beach community.
 
The police were alerted, but Mr. Campbell fled on their arrival.
 
While being chased, Mr. Campbell reportedly pointed the firearm at a member of the police team who retreated.
 
Mr. Campbell managed to escape.
 
He was arrested on August 19, during an operation in Treasure Beach.
 
Mr. Campbell was charged on Monday after being questioned in the presence of his attorney.
