St. Elizabeth man charged for 2011 double murder in Middle Quarters

The St. Elizabeth police have made a breakthrough in a double murder which occurred in Middle Quarters 14 years ago, following the arrest and charge of the main suspect.

Andre Daniels, a 41-year-old labourer of Middle Quarters, has been charged with two counts of murder, wounding with intent, illegal possession of firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and assault at common law.

He is accused of killing 24-year-old Andrew Grey and 19-year-old Dave Davis, both of Middle Quarters on June 9, 2011.

Daniels was captured during a targeted police operation on December 16.

He was later charged following a question and answer session.

His court date is being arranged.

The Black River Police had reported that Daniels visited a woman with whom he had an ongoing issue at her house.

While there, he reportedly pulled a firearm and opened fire at the occupants, hitting three people.

Daniels then made his escape on foot in the area.

The injured persons were taken to hospital where Grey and Davis were pronounced dead and the other individual was treated and admitted.
