St. Kitts and Nevis sets sights on diversification for economic resilience

Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis Dr. Terrance Drew says the path to a sustainable future for the twin island state hinges upon economic resilience and diversification.

Prime Minister Drew says the government's intention is to build an economy that leverages both traditional strengths and new industries, ensuring stability and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

Dr. Drew says it is key that there is a reduction in vulnerability to global shocks, to ensure that the economy is not dependent on a single sector, but can be transformed into a multi-sectoral and broad-based type of economy.

The prime minister says although the Citizenship by Investment Programme plays a significant role in advancing the development of St. Kitts and Nevis, it should not be regarded as the sole foundation for the nation's growth.
