Police in St. Lucia are investigating a spate of gun violence in the southern town of Vieux Fort that left two people dead and several others wounded last night.
There was also another killing in the Dennery, a quiet fishing village in the middle of St. Lucia's eastern coastline.
Last year, the government sought the assistance of the Barbados-based Regional Security System to quell the gun violence in Vieux Fort following a bloody weekend in the southern town.
St. Lucia has recorded 17 murders so far this year.
There were 75 murders in 2023, most of which the police linked to gang violence and rivalry.
