St Vincent Prime Minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves, is appealing to contractors to apply for work with the government to repair buildings damaged by Hurricane Beryl.
He said over 4,000 houses are to undergo construction.
Dr Gonsalves said after putting out the call two weeks ago, proposals were received from only 24 new contractors.
The authorities said people whose homes were damaged but were yet to see an assessor from the Ministry of Housing should go to the ministry for registration.
