The Health Ministry of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has set up a field hospital on Union Island with support from its regional counterparts.
A field hospital is a temporary hospital or mobile medical unit that takes care of casualties on-site before they can be safely transported to more permanent facilities.
Ninety per cent of the houses in the southern Grenadines suffered severe damage or destruction as a result of Hurricane Beryl.
The government in a short release, said the facility has a 40-bed capacity among other amenities.
Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves earlier this month said the government had the field hospital in stock and would be deploying it to deal with the aftermath of the hurricane.
