SVG: Several mourners killed in car crash

Several people on their way to a funeral in St. Vincent died yesterday when the vehicle in which they were travelling overturned.

The incident happened in the community of Sandy Bay in northern St. Vincent.

Video obtained by the Caribbean Media Corporation showed people lying unresponsive on the ground at the scene of the mishap.

Witnesses also said several people were pinned inside and under the vehicle, and others had been taken in private vehicles to the hospital for treatment.

The vehicle was said to be transporting people to the funeral of a man who was murdered on the outskirts of the capital, Kingstown, on August 15.
