Three police officers in St Vincent who were allegedly involved in the beating of a 10-year-old boy at a police station last Sunday have been suspended from duty.
The officers, a corporal, and two constables will receive half pay pending the outcome of an investigation.
It was reported that the child was detained by the police because he allegedly stole a bike from someone's premises, and a belt was used by the lawmen to beat him, leaving bruises on his back.
Commissioner of Police Enville Williams is urging witnesses to come forward and assist the probe.
